Are You Using Google Chrome Extensions?

Recommended Posts

The last Google Chrome update has added a highly anticipated update from Google. The ability to add extensions. To a Firefox user, these are called plug-ins, but google has decided to use a little different verbiage to describe there extendability features for their Chrome browser. In effect they word the same way as Firefox plugins and there are many of them already to go. I am sure that developers will be going crazy cranking out many more in the near future, but there are plenty to start tinkering around with right now.

If you want to check them out, you can update Google Chome and you will see a link at the bottom right of the new page screen or you can simply follow this link:

I have installed a handful so far and there are some pretty cool ones out there. I am sure that many of the most popular from Firefox will be ported to Chrome soon and that will be nice too.

Here are a few I think are worth a look:

Chrome Milk : https://chrome.google.com/extensions/detail/chieodlkhimccchlojdmiondhiggkhmf?hl=en-US

Fastest Fox : https://chrome.google.com/extensions/detail/mmffncokckfccddfenhkhnllmlobdahm?hl=en-us

One Number : https://chrome.google.com/extensions/detail/cfkohgkpafhkpdcnfadadcibfboapggi?hl=en-us

goo.gl URL Shortener : https://chrome.google.com/extensions/detail/iblijlcdoidgdpfknkckljiocdbnlagk?hl=en-us

Chome SEO : https://chrome.google.com/extensions/detail/oangcciaeihlfmhppegpdceadpfaoclj?hl=en-us

I am really loving Chromes new extensions, my favorites thus far are bit.ly, Chrome SEO, and Chromed Bird which lets you keep track of and post twitter updates from your browser.

If you are web developer I found a really cool plugin that offers all sorts of features, it is called pendule. You gotta check this one out. It lets you play with all sorts of page controls and even has a color picker and screen ruler built in!

They should have come out with a different name for 'BUZZ' instead of copying someone else there.

Anyway I dont use chrome extensions. I have checked out all that you have shown and a few extras, and they all look pretty good. Ill start using a few now, especially the SEO extension.

Not me...I'm a Firefox user.

I do wish Google wouldn't push it like they do. Just about every download site has that little check mark checked for you in order to install chrome. I have enough tool bars (missed the checked box) and now I need multiple browsers? Shessh <_<

I am a die hard Firefox advocate and lover as well. I always like to weigh my options and I am still bouncing back and forth between the two.

Google is going a little overboard how they are pushing it, but then again I guess you can't blame them for trying to get even more folks using their new product.

I am keeping them both open most the time now, I have got hooked to some plugins on each. Firefox has a lot more plugins and most seem to be more stable, I must say.

I have been forced to use Chrome because Firefox keeps if I open a particular kind of webpages. Which type of web page and Why, I really do not know.
