wrmineo 2,898 Report post Posted April 11, 2007 Leave it to Google to be purposefully goofy. I don't know why I never noticed it before, but today when I was dumping my SPAM folder in GMail, the ticker message caught my eye; see attached photo. But how cool of Google to take an annoying task, poke fun at it, and still give you a good, fun resource to boot! So if you use GMail and you have the ticker message activated, you too can review and share awesome SPAM recipes!

yourweb 3,722 Report post Posted April 11, 2007 I grew up with SPAM. I do not like it. Have never gotten a taste for it. I don't buy it. But since I now live in Texas it is very weird to see people buying that stuff and cooking it. I can not stand the taste of it.
wrmineo 2,898 Report post Posted April 11, 2007 Ah ... your anti-spam rant ran so long I thought you might pant; but as your words came to pass, I recalled a childhood recipe from my past. Green Eggs and Spam Deluxe Ingredients: 2-4 ounces of spam 8 eggs 2 tablespoons of milk 1/4 cup of chopped chives 1/8 cup of chopped fresh parsley 1/4 teaspoon of salt 1/4 teaspoon of pepper 1 tablespoon of butter or margarine What You'll Need knife, medium-size mixing bowl, wire whisk or eggbeater, large frying pan, spatula, serving plates 1. Cut the spam into small pieces. 2. In a medium-size mixing bowl, combine the eggs, milk, spam, salt, pepper, chives, and parsley. Beat with a whisk until frothy. 3. Heat a tablespoon of butter or margarine in a large frying pan over medium heat until the butter begins to sizzle. Then add the egg mixture to the pan. 4. Stir the egg mixture with a spatula until the eggs are firm and not too runny. 5. Transfer the eggs to individual plates. Garnish with a sprig of parsley. Serve with toast or warm rolls. Feeds 4 hungry green-egg and spam lovers.

nixwebo 721 Report post Posted December 6, 2009 The funny thing about spam these days is, that it really isn't that cheap. I know years ago it was used most often because it carried a smaller price tag, now you actually gotta like this stuff to buy it! I like fried spam and I don't feel bad telling the world, now the email spam, I could do without, but gmail seems to be the answer for me, I have about 15 email accounts being piped through one gmail account and I hardly ever get any junk showing up.
