How do you re dircet to a different url?

Recommended Posts

I have decided to move some of my content from one website to another but do not want to have to change all the links to the moved page or have a 404 "not found".

So I have tried by using this in htaccess:

RewriteRule ^(.*)snagging-inspection.htm$ http://www.new-home-blog.co.uk/house-builders-refusing-access-to-professional-snagging-inspectors/$1 [R=301,L]

but it wont work!

Old page is www.brand-newhomes.co.uk/snagging inspectors

redirect to

New page:  www.new-home-blog.co.uk/house-builders-refusing-access-to-professional-snagging-inspectors/

This is how I do it:

RewriteEngine on

Redirect permanent /snagging inspectors http://www.new-home-blog.co.uk/house-builders-refusing-access-to-professional-snagging-inspectors/
Each hosting company can be different. Edited by WiseWebmaster

Try this way and see if it works:

RewriteEngine on

redirect 301 /snagging-inspectors.htm http://www.new-home-blog.co.uk/house-builders-refusing-access-to-professional-snagging-inspectors/

NB: Just noticed my previous example was not quite right based on the top of your initial post
